VEGAN MINI PIZZA BISCUIT RECIPE – HOMEMADE BITES

SEASONING FOR PIZZA BISCUIT
Seasoning this mini pizza biscuit is very simple and easy. Furthermore, you might already have most of the seasoning ingredients.
DRIED AND FRESH HERBS
- Parsley.
- Oregano.
- Basil.
- Italian seasoning.
- Thyme.
SPICES
- Paprika and smoked paprika.
- Ground black pepper.
- Garlic powder or homemade garlic powder.
- Onion powder or onion flakes.
- Red chilli flakes.
INGREDIENTS FOR PIZZA BISCUIT
In order to make this pizza, I wanted to make my own pizza dough as it is cheap, simple, easy, and it doesn’t have any hidden ingredients. Here you will find the ingredients that I used and some alternative ingredients, too. However, if you want to make these mini pizza biscuits even easier, you can buy a pizza dough that you love that is vegan-friendly.
DRY INGREDIENTS
- Flour: to make this recipe as simple as possible, I used self-raising flour, and I was very impressed by the results. However, you can use another type of flour, such as all-purpose flour, and add baking powder. If you want this recipe to be gluten-free, changing the flour to a gluten-free flour can be tricky, as it is not as simple to use the same amount of gluten-free flour. The amount of dry and wet ingredients to get the same result can vary.
- Salt: This is a key ingredient for this biscuit dough, and although I love to use Himalayan salt, you can also use other types, for example, table salt, Celtic salt, kosher salt, or even flavoured salt such as garlic salt.
WET INGREDIENTS
- Oil: olive oil is great for making pizza dough and also for this biscuit dough. If you don’t have olive oil or you prefer to use other oils, you can use vegetable oil too.
- Water: ideally, I always use filtered water when making my recipes or mineral water. But you can also use tap water. In addition to the type of water, it is very important that the water is warm, not hot, not boiling, not cold, just warm water to make this biscuit dough.

CLASSIC PIZZA TOPPING
As I decided to make an easy and simple mini pizza biscuits, I went for the classic margarita flavour, with just tomato sauce and vegan cheese. For more ideas on what toppings you can add, check the following section below.
- Tomate sauce: I used tomato puree/passata, and I added some dry herbs. The herbs are: oregano and parsley; then I add garlic powder and a pinch of Himalayan salt.
- Vegan cheese: I used a vegan mozzarella cheese that melts, but you can add the cheese of your choice. Another great alternative to cheese is to use hummus, as I did on the Vegan Tortilla Pizza recipe, and the result is amazing!
- Flavoured oil: as a final touch, I did a quick flavoured oil to drizzle on top. This was made with olive oil, salt, dry oregano, and paprika.
FAVORITE PIZZA TOPPINGS
Adding your favourite toppings to these homemade biscuits is a great way to personalize your mini pizzas and to try and explore ingredients to add or to combine with. Here is a list of some of my favourite ones, but you can try others too. - Red onion.
- Sweet corn.
- Peppers, such as green or red peppers.
- Mushrooms.
- Avocados.
- Roasted vegetables. For example, potatoes, onions, garlic, and asparagus.
- Olives, such as green olives, black olives, and kalamata olives.
- Leafy greens, for example, wild rocket, and baby spinach.
- Vegan charcuterie, such as vegan ham, vegan smoked ham, vegan chicken slices, vegan pepperoni, etc.

VEGAN MINI PIZZA BISCUIT RECIPE - HOMEMADE BITES
Vegan mini pizza biscuits: crispy, easy homemade bites packed with plant-based flavor. Perfect snack-size treats for parties, kids, or quick comfort food.
Ingredients
Biscuit dough
- 1 Cup of Self-raising flour.
- 2 Tablespoons of Olive oil.
- 150 ml of Warm water.
- A pinch of salt.
Tomato sauce
- 100 ml of Tomato salsa.
- A pinch of salt.
- ½ Teaspoon of garlic powder.
- ½ Teaspoon of dried oregano.
- ½ Teaspoon of dried parsley.
Topping
- 50 grams of vegan cheese.
Flavored oil
- 2 Tablespoons of olive oil.
- 1 Teaspoon of apple cider vinegar (optional).
- ½ Teaspoon of garlic powder.
- ½ Teaspoon of dried oregano.
- ½ Teaspoon of Dried parsley.
- ½ Teaspoon of Paprika.
Instructions
BISCUIT DOUGH
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C (356 °F, approximately).
- In a large bowl, add all the dry ingredients.
- Then, pour the olive oil and, little by little, the warm water until you form the dough.
- On a lightly floured surface, place half of the dough and shape it with a rolling pin to the desired shape and size. I used a round cookie cutter.
- Place your pizza biscuits on a baking sheet and cover with parchment paper.
PIZZA SAUCE
- In a small bowl, add the tomato puree, salt, oregano, parsley, and garlic powder.
- Mix well.
- With a teaspoon, spread the tomato sauce on each mini pizza.
VEGAN CHEESE
- Add the vegan cheese of your choice on top of the tomato sauce on each mini pizza.
FLAVOURED OIL.
- In a small bowl, add the olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and the spices. Mix well.
- Drizzle this flavored oil on each mini pizza.
COOKING
- Place the baking sheet in the middle rack of your preheated oven.
- Cook for 15 minutes. If you want your mini pizza to be crisper or golden brown, leave it in the oven for a couple of additional minutes.
