  • Oil: Olive oil is a great oil for this recipe with a lovely aromatic flavor. Other oils you can use are vegetable oil and canola oil.
  • Corn starch: I coated the sliced yellow onions with corn starch because it absorbs moisture and adds an extra-crunchy texture to the crispy onions. What is more, it is gluten-free, ideal if you can’t use regular flour.
  • Salt: I used Himalayan salt, but you can use other types, such as kosher salt, sea salt, table salt, or garlic salt.

Ingredients

  • 2 Yellow onions.
  • 2 Tablespoons of olive oil.
  • 1 Teaspoon of Paprika.
  • 1 Teaspoon of Garlic powder.
  • 2 Tablespoon of Corn starch.
  • ½ Teaspoon of Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (356 °F, approximately).
  2. Peel and slice the yellow onions as finely as you can.
  3. Place the sliced onions in a large bowl.
  4. Add the olive oil and corn starch and mix well.
  5. Add the parpika, garlic powder, and salt.
  6. Cover a baking tray with parchment paper.
  7. Place the seasoned onions well spread.
  8. Place in the oven and bake.
  9. Toss them around every 10 minutes.
  10. When they are brown and after the cooking time, turn off the oven, and let them cool down inside the oven. This will also help make them crisper.
