I love mushrooms, and I think they are a great ingredient not only to replace meat in some recipes but also as they have a great flavor and nutrients. Furthermore, you don’t have to use just one type of mushroom, later on, you will see that there are many amazing mushrooms that you use dried or fresh as well. One last consideration to this is ensuring there are edible mushrooms.

SEASONINGS FOR MUSHROOM Pâté

  • Fresh herbs: for example fresh thyme.
  • Nutritional yeast.
  • Kosher salt.
  • Oregano.
  • Onion powder.

This is a gluten-free mushroom pate recipe, if you want to add soy sauce to this recipe, check the soy sauce you use as not all soy sauces are gluten-free.

To make this delicious recipe, I used fresh mushrooms, which were so tasty. However, you can also use dried mushrooms, to do so soak them in water. You can use these rehydrated mushrooms alone or with other mushrooms you like.

MUSHROOM Pâté

This mushroom pâté recipe is not only quick and easy, but very delicious too. Enjoy this great dip recipe as a spread on toast, wraps, sandwiches, and more!

Ingredients

  • 1 Small brown onion.
  • 300 gr. of Mushrooms.
  • 2 Garlic cloves.
  • 2 Tbsp. of Olive oil.
  • A Pinch of Salt.
  • Freshley ground black pepper.
  • ¼ Tsp. of Oregano.
  • A handful of fresh chopped parsley.

Instructions

  1. Peel and finely chop the onion and the garlic cloves. Then, clean and slice the fresh mushrooms.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large frying pan on a medium-high heat stove.
  3. Add onions with a pinch of salt and cook for around 5 minutes stirring periodically.
  4. Then add the finely chopped garlic cloves and fresh mushrooms and cook for around 10 minutes.
  5. When the liquid begins to appear check that all the ingredients are fully cooked and tender (if you have excess liquid you can use it later on when blending the ingredients in the food processor).
  6. Season the mushroom pate with oregano, salt, and pepper.
  7. Add the cooked ingredients to a food processor and blend. You can add the mushrooms' excess liquid or more olive oil. Blend until you get the desired consistency. Adjust seasonings if necessary.
  8. Place the mushroom pate in a small bowl. Add roughly chopped fresh parsley on top.

Notes

If you want to make this recipe oil-free you can replace the olive oil with vegetable broth.
