3 INGREDIENTS PIZZA DOUGH

Making pizza dough can be overwhelming, from choosing the right flour, type of yeast, etc. However, this recipe has only 3 easy-to-find and affordable ingredients: self-rising flour, salt, and vegan yogurt.

When I first tried this pizza dough recipe I wasn’t sure how well this pizza would turn out, to be fair I was quite skeptical. But, to my surprise (and my family too) this homemade pizza dough with yogurt is not only an easy recipe, but a very delicious pizza dough.

EASY HOMEMADE PIZZA DOUGH

To make this pizza dough recipe you will only need 3 main ingredients. However, you can make some variations to this great recipe or include others in your pizza dough; for example, you can add olive oil.

  • Flour: self-rising flour.
  • Yogurt: I used a plain regular vegan yogurt. However, in some stores, you can get plain Greek yogurt (vegan).
  • Salt: I used Himalayan salts.

In addition to this, this great recipe is truly easy and stress-free to make and is ideal if you have kids to join you, as everyone can make their pizza.

TOPPINGS

Selecting the toppings to use in your pizza dough recipe is easy, you can simply use tomato sauce, oregano, and cheese of your choice. However, pizzas can be very versatile and you can add a huge variety of spices, herbs, vegetables, or even fruits (if you like pineapple in your pizza). Here I listed a few ideas if you need some inspiration. If you use other toppings that are not on the list let us know in the comments below.

  • Olives; such as green or black, pitted or filled.
  • Basil leaves.
  • Wild rockets.
  • Peppers; such as red, green, or yellow.
  • Sweetcorn.
  • Onions; for example red onions.
  • Mushrooms.
  • Vegan parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

  • 300 ml of Vegan yogurt.
  • 300 gr. of Self-rising flour.
  • A pinch of salt.
  • 4 Tbsp. of Tomato sauce.
  • 1 Tsp. of Oregano.
  • 60 gr. of Vegan cheese.

Instructions

PIZZA DOUGH

  1. In a large bowl pour the vegan plain yogurt, the self-rising flour, and a pinch of salt. Mix the ingredients well with your hands or a wooden spoon until you get a pizza dough.
  2. Cover the dough recipe with a plastic wrap and place it in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 180 °C degrees (356 °F approx.) for around 10 minutes.

ASSEMBLE

  1. Remove the dough from the fridge and divide the dough into two even parts.
  2. On a lightly floured surface (plain flour/regular flour/all-purpose flour for this step), place one of the doughs and shape it with a rolling pin to the desired shape and size.
  3. Place parchment paper on a pizza pan* and then place your pizza dough.
  4. Add 2 tbsp. of tomato sauce/pizza sauce spread well and sprinkle dried oregano. Then add 30 gr of vegan cheese. You can also add your desired toppings.

BAKING

  1. Place the pizza pan or a baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for around 20 minutes or until the pizza is cooked to your taste (you can cook it golden brown).
  2. Remove your pizza pan from the oven cut it in 8 portions and serve warm.

Notes

*You can lightly grease the parchment paper with olive oil, but that's optional.

With this recipe, I got 2 pizzas medium sizes.
